Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, opened its doors to the local community on Sunday 5th October 2025, hosting a heartwarming Silver Sunday Afternoon Tea as part of a companywide event in partnership with Age UK.
The event, organised by Louise, Lifestyle Lead, welcomed guests from the St Vincent de Paul Society, residents’ families, and other members of the community for an afternoon of connection, laughter, and music.
“It’s important to build relationships with our local community, especially those who support our residents behind the scenes,” said Louise. Silver Sunday was the perfect opportunity to welcome the wider community to Rosedale Court and share something special together.
The home was beautifully decorated with silver-themed tables, and guests enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea featuring homemade scones, jam and cream, and a selection of sandwiches, all freshly prepared by Rosedale Court’s chefs.
A standout highlight of the day was resident Dolly, who led a lively singalong that had guests laughing and joining in.
Dolly said “I was so happy to sing to our guests at Rosedale Court, and loved that they joined in. I had them all laughing with my jokes!”
The event was part of a company-wide celebration supporting Silver Sunday, a national day which aims to tackle loneliness and bring older generations together through inclusive social activities. Community guests commented on what a lovely home Rosedale Court is and thanked the whole team for the Silver Sunday afternoon tea.
