Residents of Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, embarked on a meaningful journey on 4th February as they visited Brentwood Catholic Cathedral for a day of reflection, prayer, and spiritual connection. The trip, organised by Lifestyle Co-ordinator Louise, provided an opportunity for residents to engage in quiet contemplation and light candles in memory of loved ones.
The experience was deeply touching for many attendees. One resident shared, “Lovely stained glass windows, and I would love to see them in the summer when the sun shines through.” Another resident expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you, I could light a candle for my wife.” A family member who joined the outing added, “Thank you, my dad and I had a lovely time, and I would love to go out on another trip with you all.”
The outing was inspired by conversations with residents, many of whom expressed a desire to visit the cathedral as part of their faith practice. Given the overwhelming interest, another visit has already been scheduled for the end of the month.
The serene atmosphere at the cathedral fostered a sense of peace and reflection among the group. Attendees described the experience as calm, peaceful, thought-provoking, and spiritual. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the opportunity for residents to light candles and offer quiet prayers in memory of their loved ones.
Rosedale Court continues to prioritise outings that nurture residents’ well-being, providing opportunities for them to stay connected to their faith and community. With another trip on the horizon, residents are looking forward to another uplifting experience at Brentwood Catholic Cathedral.
