Residents, staff and relatives gathered at St Michael’s Court Care Home, part the Runwood Homes Groups, for a special Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising funds and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event brought together the community to share stories, memories, and support for those whose lives have been affected by cancer. The morning offered a space for heartfelt conversations—some uplifting, others emotional—as residents reminisced about loved ones lost and celebrated the strength of those who have survived cancer.

The coffee morning featured delicious cakes, a warm atmosphere, and plenty of conversation, especially around how Macmillan has made a difference in people’s lives during difficult times.

Staff commented that the residents often speak about recovery from cancer or lost loved ones and so participating in the Macmillan coffee morning is a bittersweet celebration.

The event was made possible through the staff, and the residents’ families. Everyone came together to make the morning a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

Standout moments included emotional stories shared by attendees about their personal connections with cancer. The atmosphere was described as fantastic, with everyone enjoying the company, the new coffee machine, and, of course, the cakes.

St Michael’s Court Care Home remains committed to supporting causes that matter to its residents and staff. Events like these highlight the strong sense of community and compassion shared by all.
