Stafford Hall Achieves “GOOD” CQC Rating, Marking Significant Improvement

Stafford Hall, part of the Runwood Homes group are proud to announce that it has received an overall rating of “GOOD” from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its most recent inspection. This achievement marks a notable improvement from the “Requires Improvement” rating held for the past 3-4 years.

Michelle Summerson, Home Manager, shared her excitement about the new rating: “We are absolutely thrilled with this recognition! It reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Our focus has always been on promoting our residents’ independence and ensuring they enjoy a high quality of life.”

The CQC report highlights significant advancements in both staffing and governance at Stafford Hall, which have led to an improved experience for residents. Feedback from families and residents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the safety, comfort, and personalised care provided. One resident remarked, “All my worries drift away sitting here,” emphasising the nurturing environment at Stafford Hall.

Staff members have reported enhanced working conditions and strong management support, enabling them to deliver exceptional care. Comments from staff include, “The staff are excellent,” and “It’s like having lots of grandparents here.” The report also commends Stafford Hall’s holistic approach to care, addressing not only physical needs but also cultural, mental, and emotional well-being through person-centred activities tailored to residents’ interests and life stories.

The positive atmosphere and effective leadership of Michelle Summerson, who has been in the role since January 2024, have been key to the home’s improvement. Her efforts in fostering an inclusive culture and driving continuous enhancements have been widely recognised.
