Residents of Stafford Hall Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, had an exciting day out as they took part in a mini golf and arcade adventure on 5th February. The trip, organised as part of the home’s commitment to engaging and enjoyable activities, was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and even a few cheeky tricks on the course!
Home Manager Michelle led the outing, ensuring that residents and staff alike had a fantastic time. The idea stemmed from a recent resident meeting, where they expressed their enthusiasm for more fun-filled activities. Mini golf was chosen not only for its entertainment value but also for its benefits in improving hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and self-confidence.
Residents thoroughly embraced the challenge of putting their way through the course, with Alan humorously remarking, “I tried to get a hole in one; it’s impossible!” Meanwhile, Rose fondly recalled past memories, saying, “I really enjoyed today. I remember taking my boys to play golf.”
One of the standout moments of the day was when a newer resident, who usually prefers to stay behind, joined in with a big smile, fully engaging with the group. This heartwarming moment reflected the success of the outing in fostering connection and joy among residents.
The atmosphere throughout the day was one of camaraderie and perseverance, with plenty of laughter and perhaps even a little bit of playful cheating!
Stafford Hall continues to prioritise outings like these, ensuring that residents can participate in meaningful experiences that promote both social and physical well-being. With such a successful day in the books, residents are already looking forward to their next adventure!
