Brewster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with festive spirit on 9 December as The Big Sing Choir visited the home for an afternoon of joyful Christmas music and singalong fun. The event created a warm, celebratory atmosphere for residents, staff, and visitors alike.
Lifestyle Coordinator at Brewster House, Leoni, organised the event after learning that resident Hazel previously sang with The Big Sing. With support from Tesco Community Champion, Rhiain, the choir kindly agreed to visit as part of their annual tradition of performing in care homes during the festive season.
Carer Enock, who supported the event, expressed his delight:
“This is so great — a lovely afternoon together.”
Residents were equally enthusiastic. Hazel shared how meaningful the experience was for her:
“This has been the best afternoon. Thank you for making this happen for me — it has brought back so many memories.”
The visit was especially important for Hazel, offering her the chance to reconnect with an activity she loved before moving to Brewster House. For all residents, the afternoon created a sense of inclusion, happiness, and festive spirit.
A standout moment came when Hazel was invited by the choir to sing alongside them, a touching highlight that brought smiles and pride to everyone present.
The atmosphere throughout the event was described as very happy and full of smiles and joy, capturing the true essence of Christmas at Brewster House.
