Oldfield House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with music, laughter and heartfelt moments on 12 February 2026 as residents, families and staff came together to celebrate a special Valentine’s Day Dance Party.
Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love in all its forms, and at Oldfield House the focus was on friendship, companionship and shared memories. The home welcomed back the talented Alan Turner, whose wonderful voice set the perfect tone for an afternoon of romance and nostalgia. Residents took to the dance floor with staff and loved ones, dancing to classic love songs and enjoying the warm atmosphere. Red roses were also shared as tokens of appreciation.
The event was a true team effort, with staff working together to ensure every resident could fully enjoy the party. Many have become excellent dance partners, helping residents relive cherished memories of dances and celebrations from years gone by. Family members also played an important role, supporting with decorations and helping to transform the home into a beautiful Valentine’s setting, strengthening connections within the community.
Residents and relatives were full of praise for the event. One resident said, “Brilliant! This was an amazing party. I haven’t danced this much in years.” A family member added, “They all look so happy. Well done to all the staff!”
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was vibrant and uplifting, with smiles all around and the dance floor rarely empty. The celebration highlighted the importance of meaningful activities that nurture wellbeing and encourage movement.
Oldfield House continues to provide engaging events that bring residents, families and staff together, ensuring that every special occasion is celebrated with warmth, dignity and joy.
