Residents, staff, families and members of the local community came together on 17 February for a heartwarming Valentine’s Raffle at Chelmunds Court, part of the Runwood Homes group, raising funds to support future trips, activities and special experiences for residents.
The event, held in the home’s lounge, saw an exciting afternoon unfold as everyone gathered to listen eagerly for their lucky numbers to be called. A wide variety of prizes were up for grabs, including chocolates, sweets, body care gifts and activity packs designed for residents to enjoy with friends in their rooms.
The excitement was shared by all who attended. Residents, staff and members of the public from the local church eagerly anticipated the draw. One member of the community commented:
“It’s lovely how we all come together to raise money for the residents.”
A standout moment from the afternoon was when one resident won the grand hamper prize, expressing pure joy and delight, a highlight that perfectly captured the spirit of the event.
Fundraising events like this play an important role in enhancing life at Chelmunds Court. All proceeds from the raffle will go directly towards enriching residents’ lives through a wider variety of entertainment, outings and meaningful experiences. Chelmunds Court aims to host a raffle every couple of months, giving families and community members something special to look forward to while continuing to create moments for residents.
