On Thursday 11th July, the team at Alexandra House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, brought a splash of sunshine indoors with their vibrant Watermelon Smiles tropical hydration trolley, designed to brighten spirits and promote hydration during the warm weather.
The team at Alexandra House turned a simple refreshment initiative into a joyful, sensory celebration for all. The trolley was brimming with freshly cut tropical fruits, including watermelon, pineapple, mango and strawberries, alongside deliciously refreshing fruit drinks and mocktails.
The event was open to residents, staff, visiting professionals, friends and family, all of whom were invited to help themselves to the tropical treats.
The event stirred fond summer memories for residents, with one sharing, “Eating the fresh fruit reminds me of being on holiday when they used to sell fresh fruit on the beach.”
