Westwood Care Home’s Day Centre was transformed into a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture this month as part of the home’s popular “Around the World” themed dining experience.
The event featured stunning decorations, colourful accessories for residents, staff, and families to dress up in, and a mouth-watering menu of authentic homemade Mexican dishes prepared by our talented chef, Glenn. Refreshments were served to complement the feast, creating a true fiesta atmosphere.
Natasha and Chloe, our dedicated Lifestyle Co-ordinators at Westwood, organised the evening with the aim of bringing residents together to explore new flavours and spark conversations about travel and cultural experiences.
Hazel, the daughter of one resident, summed up the sentiment beautifully:
“I think it’s wonderful what you do for all the residents.”
The monthly themed food nights are designed to stimulate taste buds, create conversations, and build community connections, making them a highlight on the Westwood calendar.
The atmosphere was, as always, amazing. Guests chatted, and engaged with one another while enjoying Glenn’s culinary creations. The evening was a resounding success, leaving everyone looking forward to next month’s destination.
