Residents at Westwood Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed an unforgettable experience where they were treated to a glamorous limousine ride followed by a luxurious afternoon tea at Van Dyk by Wildes in Chesterfield.
Organised by Lifestyle Coordinators Natasha and Chloe, and supported by Manager Claire, the event was inspired by conversations with residents who dreamed of a special ladies’ day out, complete with a limo and afternoon tea. The excitement began as the limousine arrived in the morning at Westwood Care Home and residents were chauffeured around to take in the scenic sights before arriving at Van Dyk’s for delicious treats and prosecco.
The experience was enjoyed by all and created lasting memories for everyone involved. The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with happiness and laughter, with many residents expressing just how special the occasion made them feel.
One resident’s family member, Yvonne, shared heartfelt thanks:
“Thank you to Westwood – this is something my mum has never done in her life, and now she can tick ‘ride in a limousine’ off her list. She’s experienced so much since being at Westwood and is loving life. I can’t thank the staff enough.”
Resident Carol summed up the day by saying:
“This is the best day ever! Can we do this every day?”
Another resident, Ethel, added:
“Wow! I can’t believe I’m actually in a limousine. I’ve never done anything like this before. The afternoon tea was amazing – it has been a lovely day and I’ve really enjoyed myself.”
The staff at Westwood Care Home aim to help residents live life to the fullest and try new things they may never have had the chance to do. The event stands as a testament to the staff’s commitment to creating meaningful and enriching experiences for all residents.
