Liberty House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, welcomed a very special visitor on Friday, 20th February 2026 when Jody, Lifestyle Coordinator, brought in her pug, Winnie, to meet residents across the home.
The visit gave new residents a chance to meet Winnie for the first time and offered familiar residents the opportunity to reconnect with their furry friend. Everyone enjoyed cuddles, fusses, and seeing Winnie’s cheerful, smiley face, which brought back fond memories for many.
Beryl, a resident, said:
“I adore all animals and it was a pleasure to meet little Winnie today. She was such a well-behaved dog and very adorable.”
Felicity, a resident, added:
“I used to have dogs and cats on my farm when I was a little girl and have always had a special place in my heart for them. To see Winnie today took me right back to my childhood.”
Jody, Lifestyle Coordinator at Liberty House, explained:
“Winnie has been visiting Liberty House for a couple of years now and she loves to see all the residents as she gets lots of cuddles and fusses. With this month’s dignity theme being ‘All Creatures Great and Small,’ it felt like the perfect time to bring Winnie back to visit everyone.”
The visit highlighted the importance of pets in residents’ lives, helping to spark memories, encourage conversation, and bring joy throughout Liberty House. The atmosphere was full of laughter, smiles, and happiness, making it a truly heartwarming day for all involved.
