Residents at Wisden Court, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a personalised optical care experience on 7th October 2025, as visiting opticians provided on-site eye examinations in a calm and reassuring environment.
The event was coordinated by Ally, Lifestyle Coordinator, who worked closely with care staff and the optical team to ensure residents felt supported throughout the process.
“It’s important that residents have their eyes tested regularly to identify whether they need glasses or updated prescriptions,” said Ally. “Some residents may be struggling with their vision without being able to vocalise it.”
The atmosphere on the day was positive, and welcoming. Residents were appreciative of the personalised attention and the comfortable experience. One resident commented that, “I loved the different choices of glasses to choose from,” and added, “The woman made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process.”
A highlight of the day was how patient and attentive the optical assistant was with each resident, explaining each step clearly and ensuring everyone felt safe and understood.
