Staff and residents at Woodbury Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were overjoyed this week as they proudly received the prestigious PROSPER Bronze Award on Thursday 31st July, recognising their continued commitment to delivering high-quality, harm-free care.
Led by Home Manager Mel Oliver, Woodbury Court has embraced the PROSPER program with enthusiasm, focusing on reducing falls, pressure injuries, and urinary infections through engaging and proactive initiatives. The dedicated team of PROSPER Champions, Gayle, Michelle, Lorraine and Donna, have brought creativity and passion to their approach, resulting in practical, impactful changes across the home.
Among the initiatives that gained particular recognition was the home’s innovative work around falls prevention, including a “Sloppy Slippers Swap” to improve footwear safety, Falls Prevention Bingo sessions with residents and interactive quizzes to raise awareness among staff and residents
One resident, Eddie, shared his appreciation, “I can’t believe I am walking again! I have a new frame, and the staff walk alongside me to make sure I’m safe. They even asked the physio to visit me, and I take part in the fun exercise classes every day.”
The atmosphere at Woodbury Court was one of pride and celebration, as the team now looks ahead to the next milestone—achieving the Silver Award. Their shared goal remains clear: to continue raising standards and supporting residents to live safely and independently.
