Residents at Loganberry Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were treated to a very special visitor on 11th February 2026, as Peppa the Pug returned to the home for an afternoon of cuddles, companionship and joy.
Peppa made her way around every room and lounge area, ensuring all residents had the opportunity to experience the comfort and benefits of pet therapy. From gentle strokes to warm cuddles, her presence created heart-warming moments throughout the home.
Pet therapy plays an important role in supporting residents’ emotional wellbeing. The presence of a calm, affectionate animal can significantly reduce feelings of isolation, lift mood, provide comfort and create a valuable sense of companionship.
Residents were delighted by the visit. Vivian shared, “Spending time with Peppa really is my favourite part of the week.”
Caroll added, “Who can feel blue when they are loved on by this sweet little thing? She really brightens my day.”
Naomi, Lifestyle Coordinator, said, “It’s so heart warming to see everyone’s faces light up when Peppa comes into the home. It’s hard to say who loves it more, the residents or the pooch.”
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was filled with smiles, laughter and tender moments, as residents enjoyed one-to-one time with their four-legged friend.
Loganberry Lodge continues to recognise the powerful impact that animal therapy can have and remains dedicated to creating opportunities that bring comfort, connection and happiness to all who live there.
