Rose House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, is celebrating a remarkable achievement and heartfelt act of dedication as Charlie, grandson of resident Mags, successfully completed the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026 while raising an impressive £3,343 for Alzheimer’s Society.
Charlie took on the iconic 26.2-mile challenge in honour of his grandmother and all those affected by dementia. His commitment to the cause was inspired by seeing firsthand the impact Alzheimer’s disease can have on individuals and their families, making his achievement even more meaningful.
After months of dedicated training, Charlie crossed the finish line, not only reaching a major personal milestone but also making a significant contribution to Alzheimer’s Society. The £3,343 raised will go directly towards improving care, funding research, and ensuring that no one has to face dementia alone.
Staff and residents at Rose House have shared how proud they are of Charlie’s determination, compassion, and generosity. His efforts have brought the community together and helped shine a light on the importance of raising awareness and support for those living with dementia.
