Park View Care Home in Warwick, part of the Runwood Homes group, had the pleasure of hosting a unique event on Thursday, 17th October: a mini concert led by television personalities James May and Oz Clarke, alongside the Armonico Consort. This special event was part of the “Great Bike Challenge 2024,” where Oz Clarke and Armonico cycle across the country to raise awareness and support for dementia. The concert brought live music, fun, and laughter to residents and staff, creating unforgettable moments for all.

Park View’s lounge was transformed into a charming concert space, with decorations and refreshments prepared to ensure the event was as festive as it was meaningful. Residents gathered to listen, sing along, and dance to the music, enjoying an intimate performance by the Armonico Consort choir. The event showcased not only the power of music to connect and uplift but also the dedication of Oz Clarke, Armonico, and the Park View team in supporting causes that deeply impact the community.

Park View’s resident Joyce expressed her excitement, saying, “I love the music; it gives me goosebumps. This is very special.” Fellow resident David also added, “That was brilliant! I liked the dancing afterwards as well.”

Relatives joined in the celebration, with Sarah, daughter of resident Veronica, sharing how much the concert meant, telling the staff, “It was all so lovely!”

Park View’s Deputy Manager noted the joy the event brought, saying, “It is so lovely; their voices were amazing! We’re so lucky to have them come to Park View. It was a wonderful experience for everyone to enjoy, and the choir group was fantastic! To think we even had the honour of having celebrities James May and Oz Clarke here—many can’t say they’ve had that honour.”

Park View Home Manager Dani Pathirage added, “Wow! That was so wonderful for them to come to our home; they sang amazingly, and we are so lucky and honoured to have had them here.”

The event was more than just a concert; it was a celebration of community, compassion, and the therapeutic power of music, leaving everyone at Park View with cherished memories.
