On the evening of the 28th of February, Westwood care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, hosted a delightful “American Night” event, bringing together residents, staff, and their families for a fun-filled evening of delicious food and great company. The atmosphere was filled with joy, as families commented on how lovely these get-togethers are, and the room was filled with smiles all around. Residents and staff enjoyed a mouthwatering spread, including burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, cheesy fries, pork ribs, and a delicious cheesecake for dessert. The kitchen staff, led by Glen, worked hard to create a memorable dining experience for everyone.
The event was a true collaboration, involving Westwood care home staff, residents, and family members. Everyone came together to share in the fun and create lasting memories. The event provided an opportunity to unite the community, offering a space for families and residents to bond over food, fun, and shared experiences. These moments help foster a sense of belonging and connection within the care home environment.
The idea for American Night was brought to life by Natasha and Chloe Westwood’s, lifestyle coordinators at the care home, who regularly create fun and engaging activities for the residents and families to enjoy. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the positive and upbeat atmosphere. Everyone had a great time, with shared smiles and laughter creating a memorable experience for all who attended.
American Night was a great success, with families and staff coming together to celebrate and enjoy an evening of good food, fun, and connection. Westwood care home continues to create moments that matter, bringing the community closer with every event.
