ada 2 Wellbeing AlexandraAlexandra House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly celebrated Ada as she marked her 105th birthday surrounded by family, staff, and fellow residents.

Born in London under the sound of the Bow Bells, Ada’s special day was honoured with a Cockney-themed celebration. The home was decorated with a display of photographs from Ada’s younger years through to the present, projected onto a big screen for all to enjoy. This touching tribute brought back fond memories and was deeply appreciated by her family.

The celebration continued with an afternoon performance by singer Paul, who entertained the audience with traditional Cockney songs. Ada and fellow residents joined in the singing, while staff dressed up in theme to add to the wonderful atmosphere.

Ada’s milestone birthday was made even more memorable as she received a congratulatory card from the King, a proud moment for her and her loved ones.

Ada was very pleased to see her life in pictures displayed throughout the home, as well as singing along to the songs that held such meaning for her. The day was a true reflection of the caring and warm community at  Alexandra House.

Ada’s son commented: “My sincere and heartfelt thanks to you for planning and organising such a wonderful 105th birthday for Mum.”

Lucy Sutheran, Julie Hammond, Jo Glover, and Gen Mi from the Lifestyle Team at Alexandra House Care Home said they were honoured to mark such an important milestone in Ada’s life.
