Alexandra House Care Home recently marked a significant milestone, their 16th anniversary of providing a supportive, family-like environment to its residents. The two-day celebration, held on the 21st and 22nd of February, brought together residents, staff, and the broader community to honour the hard work and dedication that have made Alexandra House a home to many.
On the 21st of February, the residents were treated to a lively afternoon, with local singer Paul bringing joy and entertainment to the party. His performance created a cheerful atmosphere, with one resident commenting, “What a great afternoon! Paul is an amazing singer, and the party was very good.” The residents enjoyed the music, laughter, and camaraderie, making it a memorable event.
The following day, 22nd of February, the staff came together for their own celebration. This special occasion included an awards ceremony to recognise the hard work and commitment of the staff members who provide care, support, and kindness to the residents every day. The party continued with food, music, and games, ensuring the atmosphere was relaxed and filled with joy.
The celebration was not just about marking another year in the calendar—it was an opportunity to reflect on the community that has developed over the years. The milestone was also a chance to recognise the longest-standing residents, who have made Alexandra House their home and are an integral part of the family-like environment.
Lucy Sutheran, Gen Michalak, Jo Glover, and Julie Hammond, the Lifestyle Coordinators at Alexandra House Care Home, worked tirelessly to organise this special celebration. “The atmosphere over the two days was truly remarkable,” said one staff member. “There was so much laughter and joy—it was a reminder of how deeply connected we all are. Alexandra House isn’t just a care home; it’s a place where we come together as one big family.”
As Alexandra House Care Home celebrates its 16th year, the event was a beautiful reflection of the values that have been at the core of the care home’s mission: community, connection, and a welcoming environment.
