Residents and staff at Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, participated in an exciting two-part activity designed to get everyone moving, smiling, and enjoying the fresh spring air. The event, which took place on Monday 7th April and Thursday 10th April, included a lively indoor dance exercise session followed by an energetic game of catch in the garden. The sunny weather added to the cheerful atmosphere, with everyone enjoying refreshing drinks while staying active and social.
The dance exercise session, held after bingo, allowed residents to move to music at their own pace, ensuring everyone could participate regardless of mobility. Following the indoor activity, residents and staff moved outside for a friendly game of catch, with the sunshine lifting spirits and encouraging social interaction.
This event was not only about fun but also about promoting physical health, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. Activities like these are crucial for boosting residents’ morale and strengthening community bonds.
The idea for the event came from Chelmunds Court’s ongoing focus on the residents’ well-being. With the weather improving, staff thought it would be the perfect opportunity to combine exercise with outdoor enjoyment.
The atmosphere during the event was electric, filled with laughter, energy, and a strong sense of community. Residents, many of whom are usually quieter, were seen lighting up with joy during the games.
