The residents and staff at Frank Foster House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, successfully raised £240 in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK, aligning their fundraising efforts with the Royal Parks Half Marathon, which took place on the 13th of October. The event was aimed at raising awareness and supporting vital research into Alzheimer’s disease, a cause that resonates strongly with the care home community.
Nicolas, Frank Foster House’s home manager, a dedicated participant in the half marathon, received enthusiastic support from the residents and staff of Frank Foster House, who organised various fundraising activities in the lead-up to the event. Their collective efforts not only contributed to a worthy cause but also fostered a sense of community spirit. “The home enjoyed the fundraising and was eager to support me in my half marathon,” said Nicolas Kee Mew.
The £240 raised will go directly to Alzheimer’s Research UK, supporting the organisation’s mission to better understand and support those with Alzheimer’s disease. The participation of Frank Foster House underscores their commitment to charitable causes and highlights the importance of contributing to ongoing research in the fight against dementia.
