Windmill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly marked Children in Need on Friday 14th November with a fun-filled day designed to bring joy to residents while supporting an important national charity.

Eva, Lifestyle Coordinator at Windmill House , who led the event, shared her enthusiasm for the day’s activities. Staff embraced the theme by dressing in polka dots or y

ellow, each donating £1.00 to the charity. Residents took part in a variety of creative and engaging activities, including decorating Children in Need-themed biscuits, colouring pictures of Pudsey, and completing Children in Need word searches.

The event was made possible through the combined involvement of the Lifestyle Team, volunteers, and residents, all coming together to support a cause close to the hearts of many in the community.

Supporting charitable initiatives such as Children in Need is an important tradition at Windmill House as it is essential to recognise and support charities that make a difference. These events also give residents an opportunity to engage, express creativity, and share in a sense of community.

The celebration was warmly received, with relative Paula sharing her heartfelt appreciation:
“Absolutely wonderful!! Pudsey would be so proud! So appreciated all the love and care you provide for the residents.”

The atmosphere throughout the event was lively, cheerful, and filled with laughter as both residents and staff embraced the spirit of giving.
