On Wednesday 19th June, residents at Mulberry Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, embraced their creative sides during a joyful and engaging arts and crafts session.
This vibrant activity encouraged residents to design and create their very own personalised coasters using colourful glass tiles. With a selection of round and square bases, residents thoughtfully chose their tile colours and shapes, arranging them into unique patterns before securing them in place with adhesive.
One resident, Janette, shared her delight, commenting, “I never thought I could make something pretty with just a few glass tiles. Now I have a lovely coaster to use for my tea!”
These kinds of creative sessions are about so much more than just crafting, as they promote self-expression, boost mood and confidence, and provide valuable opportunities for social interaction. Most importantly, they help residents feel a sense of purpose and achievement.
The idea was developed by Mulberry Court’s dedicated lifestyle team, who continuously strive to provide enriching, person-centred experiences that bring joy and meaning to daily life.
This successful workshop is just one example of how Mulberry Court supports its residents in living fulfilled, connected, and creative lives.
