Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, celebrated a joyous Easter on Sunday 13th April, with a fun-filled event that brought together residents, their families, and the local community for an afternoon of crafts, games, and festivities.
As part of the Easter Craft Day, staff members invited the great-grandchildren of residents, staff’s children, and the local community to join in on an exciting egg hunt, sensory play with sand, slime-making activities, and Easter-themed painting. The event also featured a raffle with an Easter hamper as the grand prize.
The day was a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together. The younger generation enjoyed the egg hunt, sensory activities, and craft stations, creating lasting memories for the Longview community.
One of the standout moments was when Christine, a resident, experienced slime-making for the first time, saying, “I have never played with slime, so that was interesting.”
With beautifully decorated conservatories and an outdoor egg hunt, the atmosphere was filled with laughter, chatter, and excitement. Thankfully, the weather cooperated, allowing everyone to enjoy the festivities outdoors.
The event was a huge success, and staff are already planning similar activities to maintain connections between residents, families, and the local community. These events are essential in promoting intergenerational interaction and ensuring that residents can enjoy meaningful moments with their loved ones.
