On 28th November, residents and staff from Four Acres Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, wrapped up warmly and attended the festive Studley Christmas Lights Switch-On in their village. After enjoying a hearty dinner, they made their way out to experience the magical event.
The evening began with a stroll through the outdoor stalls, where local vendors offered a variety of holiday treats and goods. Residents were delighted to browse and shop while catching up with friends and neighbour’s. The festivities continued inside the Village Hall, where a charming craft fair was held, allowing residents to enjoy a range of handmade items and engage in conversations with fellow villagers.
For many of the residents, the annual event was a nostalgic one, as several had attended in previous years before moving into Four Acres. The evening culminated in the much-anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-On. Residents also had the opportunity to meet Santa and share their holiday wishes before heading back to Four Acres to enjoy a cosy cup of hot chocolate.
Jacke, Deputy Manager at Four Acres, commented:
“It was a wonderful evening, and it was lovely to see the residents mixing with the local community and experiencing the sights, sounds, and smells of Christmas. They joined in with the singing, and it was truly an amazing night.”
The event provided a meaningful opportunity for Four Acres to be a part of the local Christmas traditions, strengthening ties with the community and creating cherished memories for all involved.
