Frank Foster House Care Home Celebrates Silver Sunday with High Tea and a Musical Treat

In celebration of Silver Sunday, Frank Foster House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, hosted a vibrant community event on Sunday, 6th October, where residents and guests gathered for an afternoon of tea, treats, and toe-tapping music. The special occasion, aimed at honouring older people and bringing the community together, saw the home buzzing with joy, conversation, and song.

The highlight of the afternoon was a delightful performance by The Phoenix Singers, a local choir of 15 talented vocalists who filled the room with their harmonious melodies. From timeless classics to more modern tunes, the residents were soon tapping their feet, clapping along, and even joining in with the singing. The choir’s energy was infectious, turning the high tea into a full-blown celebration.

The high tea party featured a lavish spread of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and an array of tempting cakes. Residents, guests, and staff indulged while soaking up the lively atmosphere. Laughter echoed throughout the room as everyone bonded over shared memories, delicious food, and the joy of music. “It was a great turnout of people, and everyone enjoyed,” explained Manel, Lifestyle Coordinator at Frank Foster House.”

The event was a resounding success, reminding everyone of the power of community spirit and the joy that simple pleasures like music and tea can bring. As the final notes of the choir’s songs lingered in the air, it was clear that this Silver Sunday would be one to remember.
