Frank Foster House Care Home, part of Runwood Homes Group,  was recently filled with creativity, warmth, and positivity as residents came together to take part in a meaningful Wishing Tree activity.

Throughout the week, residents were invited to write down their wishes, dreams, and positive thoughts, which were then displayed on a beautifully decorated tree. The activity encouraged reflection, conversation, and self-expression, quickly becoming a focal point within the home and bringing residents and staff together.

The Wishing Tree highlighted the creativity and optimism of the residents, with each wish telling a personal story and sparking moments of connection and shared joy. The atmosphere was relaxed and uplifting, filled with smiles, thoughtful conversations, and a strong sense of community.

Maddie, staff member at Frank Foster House, commented:
“It’s a great way to wish! We love seeing the creativity and hope of our residents shining through – it’s such a joyful reminder of the power of sharing wishes and stories.”

The idea for the Wishing Tree came from staff discussions about creating meaningful activities that support emotional wellbeing and encourage residents to share their thoughts and experiences. Supported by the care and lifestyle team, residents took pride in decorating the tree and reading one another’s wishes.

Activities like the Wishing Tree play an important role in promoting wellbeing, creativity, and social connection, helping residents feel heard, valued, and connected within their community. Seeing the tree gradually fill with colourful wishes was a stand-out moment and a lasting reminder of the power of hope and shared stories at Frank Foster House.
