Residents, staff, and families at Frank Foster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together to celebrate Chinese New Year, marking the Year of the Snake with a vibrant and culturally immersive event. The day was filled with traditional activities, entertainment, and cuisine, making for a truly special occasion.

The festivities featured tai chi, calligraphy, fan dancing, food tasting, and tea tasting, all designed to give residents a meaningful experience of Chinese culture. One of the highlights of the celebration was the lion dance, which captivated residents and brought a lively energy to the event. Residents also enjoyed horoscope readings, adding an element of personal reflection to the celebration.

The event was particularly special as Home Manager, Nicolas, who has Chinese heritage, took the opportunity to teach residents some Chinese words, deepening their connection to the traditions of the Lunar New Year.

Resident, Peter, shared his joy in celebrating the occasion, saying, “This reminds me of my visit to China.” Meanwhile, Resident Ambassador Maureen expressed her gratitude, saying, “The Chinese food was lovely—thanks to Nicolas and all the team for sharing Chinese New Year with us.”

The atmosphere throughout the day was warm and festive, with families, residents, and staff all joining in the celebrations.
