Greenbanks Care Home part of the Runwood Homes Group is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Bronze Accreditation for Excellence in Nutrition and Hydration by the Nutrition Awareness Team. The recognition marks the first time in several years that the home has achieved this standard, highlighting the dedication of the entire team to promoting residents’ health and wellbeing.
The accreditation reflects the home’s commitment to ensuring that every resident receives high-quality nutrition and hydration as part of their daily care. During the assessment, the home was praised for its comprehensive nutrition care plans, which cover diet, MUST (Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool), and food fortification. The management team demonstrated strong knowledge and understanding of nutrition strategies, while the kitchen team showed expertise in food preparation, allergy management, and adherence to ICB recommendations.
The home also prioritises a food-based approach for residents at risk of malnutrition, providing tailored support and guidance. Staff have access to reference materials such as BAPEN charts and Malnutrition Pathways to ensure best practices are followed. Residents enjoy engaging food-related activities, including seasonal BBQs and meals prepared using home-grown vegetables, which encourage healthy eating and hydration in a fun and interactive way.
Deputy Manager at Greenbanks Care Home, Nadia Gamil, said, “We are delighted to receive this accreditation in recognition of our commitment to supporting residents with good nutrition and hydration. It reflects the hard work of our managers, staff, and catering team, who take a proactive approach to ensuring residents enjoy both healthy and enjoyable meals. Our accreditation is valid for one year, and we look forward to building on this success.”
This award is a proud achievement for Greenbanks Care Home and a testament to the team’s ongoing dedication to providing outstanding care and promoting residents’ wellbeing.
