On 4th December, the residents and staff of Greenbanks Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a delightful ice-skating adventure at Planet Ice in Watford. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and a touch of nostalgia as everyone came together for a unique and memorable outing.
The team at Planet Ice ensured the event was accessible and enjoyable for all, offering support to help residents safely on and off the ice and assisting them around the rink. Residents of Greenbanks in Watford spent an hour wheelchair ice-skating, taking in the cool, crisp atmosphere of the rink and relishing the experience.
After their time on the ice, the residents enjoyed delicious mugs of hot chocolate, a perfect remedy for the winter chill. The day concluded with a hearty meal at Nando’s, rounding out a day of fun, connection, and comfort food.
One resident, Jackie, expressed her joy, saying:
“It was so much fun, and it was lovely going out for some lunch. Going ice-skating reminded me of my younger years!”
