Greenbanks Care Home Hosts Heartwarming Valentine’s Afternoon Tea for the Community

Residents and members of the local community gathered at Greenbanks Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, on 14th February, for a special Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea. The event, designed to bring people together and combat loneliness, was a resounding success, with over 30 attendees enjoying delicious treats, drinks, and live music in a warm and welcoming setting.

Organised by the Greenbanks Lifestyle Coordinator, the event welcomed Watford Councillor Mark Watkins and his wife, alongside residents and community members, creating a truly inclusive and joyful celebration.

Speaking about the occasion, Mark Watkins shared his appreciation: “It was a really lovely afternoon, and it was wonderful to get everyone from the community together at an event like this.”

The idea for the event stemmed from a desire to share love and companionship on a day that can often feel lonely for some. By opening its doors to the local community, Greenbanks not only fostered new connections but also gave residents the chance to socialise and celebrate with others.

Kirsty, Customer Relations Manager at Greenbanks, highlighted the importance of community events like these, which have a positive impact on residents’ well-being while also helping the wider community learn more about the care home.

One of the standout moments of the afternoon was a heartfelt speech from Councillor Watkins, in which he spoke about both Greenbanks and his own experiences in Watford, making the day even more memorable.

With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the entire Greenbanks team played a part in ensuring the event was a success, making Valentine’s Day a truly special occasion for all.
