Residents of Greenbanks Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently enjoyed a delightful afternoon out, taking a trip to a local pub for a hearty lunch and sweet treats on 20th February. The outing, organised by care home staff, was a fantastic opportunity for residents to socialise, reminisce, and enjoy a change of scenery.
Seven residents joined the trip, accompanied by staff, and were treated to delicious meals, puddings, and traditional tea and cake. For some, the experience was particularly nostalgic, bringing back fond memories of past visits with family. One resident shared, “It was lovely to go out and have lunch in the pub. I used to come here a lot with my family, and it was nice to come back!”
The atmosphere was lively and joyful, as residents relished their meals and enjoyed a taste of their favorite drinks. David, one of the residents, was especially pleased to sip on a Guinness with his lunch!
Kirsty, Customer Relations Manager at Greenbanks Care Home, emphasised the importance of outings like these, stating that being part of the community and enjoying everyday activities makes a significant impact on residents’ well-being.
