Carolyne House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with love and emotion on 13 December as residents, family, and friends came together to celebrate a deeply meaningful wedding renewal ceremony.
The special occasion was organised after a resident’s husband expressed a wish to renew his vows, and the team at Carolyne House were delighted to make this happen. A local vicar was invited to lead the ceremony, creating an authentic and heartfelt service that reflected the couple’s lifelong commitment to one another.
Following the renewal, a small reception was held in the tea lounge, where guests enjoyed food and refreshments in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. Family and friends gathered to support the couple, and one particularly touching moment came when a family member sang during the service, adding to the emotional significance of the day.
The atmosphere throughout the event was described as very loving, with one standout highlight when Richard surprised Ruth with a new ring, making the moment even more memorable for everyone present.
Commenting on the event, Charlotte, Lifestyle Coordinator at Carolyne House, said:
“It was very meaningful. Supporting the wishes of our residents is incredibly important to us.”
Events like this reflect Carolyne House’s commitment to person-centred care, ensuring residents feel heard, valued, and supported in celebrating the moments that matter most to them.
