Residents of Humfrey Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently enjoyed an outing to the Agricultural Science Unit in Saffron Walden on Friday 28th March. The trip provided residents with a unique opportunity to connect with nature and experience the delights of farm life.
The residents were able to get up close with a variety of animals, including goats and snakes, which sparked joy and animated conversations throughout the day.
“Visiting the farm was a delightful experience! Residents enjoyed seeing all the animals up close, particularly the goats and the snakes. The fresh air and beautiful scenery evoked many wonderful memories of the residents’ childhood,” shared Weronika.
The visit was more than just a day out. It offered meaningful moments of connection, both with the animals and among residents themselves. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, smiles, and nostalgic reflections, making it a truly memorable experience.
The idea for the trip stemmed from Humfrey Lodge’s desire to create enriching experiences that boost wellbeing and bring joy to daily life. Judging by the glowing smiles and fond memories shared, the visit was a resounding success.
