Loganberry Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, ensured every resident felt valued and included this Christmas Day with a heartwarming gift-giving celebration on 25 December 2025.
In a festive and joyful scene, two members of the activities team dressed as Christmas elves and personally delivered individually chosen presents to all 140 residents. Each gift was thoughtfully selected to reflect residents’ personal likes and needs and was wrapped in Christmas paper or presented in a festive gift bag, adding to the excitement and sense of occasion.
Carole, Lifestyle Coordinator at Loganberry Lodge, said:
“We spread the joy of Christmas to every resident. We were inclusive of everyone but also was aware of the different religious beliefs. Each person received a gift that was chosen for their likes and needs..”
Residents’ reactions captured the spirit of the day, with comments such as “Oh, a present, I didn’t expect that,” and “I love it, can I wear it now?” heard throughout the home.
The atmosphere during the event was filled with love, warmth, and a strong sense of family. Residents clearly felt cherished and appreciated, creating a memorable Christmas experience for everyone involved.
One particularly joyful highlight came when a resident, MS, received a woolly hat and scarf. Delighted with her gift, she immediately put it on and proudly paraded around the lounge, declaring it “the best present ever” and sharing her excitement to wear it on her garden walks.
With the involvement of staff and all 140 residents, Loganberry Lodge’s Christmas celebration perfectly reflected the home’s commitment to compassion, inclusivity, and spreading festive cheer to all.
