Residents at Liberty House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were treated to a heartwarming Valentine’s Day celebration on 14th February, as they shared a special meal with their loved ones. Organised by Lifestyle Coordinators Jody and Kelley, the event created a truly magical atmosphere, brimming with love, joy, and cherished memories.
The celebration brought together couples residing at Liberty House, as well as spouses from outside the home, allowing them to reconnect and celebrate their love. The dining area was beautifully decorated, with soft music playing in the background, and the clinking of glasses as residents toasted to their relationships.
Jody, Lifestyle Coordinator, spoke about her passion for making these moments special: “I love to see smiles on everyone’s faces, so anything I can do to make this happen, I will. Love was in the air.”
The event received glowing appreciation from families, with Pete, the husband of a resident, expressing his gratitude: “Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon. Jody always goes above and beyond. I thank both Jody and Kelley so much for bringing us together to celebrate Valentine’s Day.”
This annual tradition, now in its third year, has become a much-anticipated event at Liberty House, allowing couples to relive fond memories, sing along to romantic tunes, and enjoy a delightful meal together. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, conversation, and the warmth of companionship—a testament to the care and dedication of the Liberty House team.
As the wine flowed and love was celebrated, the afternoon proved to be another memorable occasion, reinforcing the care home’s commitment to ensuring that love knows no age.
