Maun View Care Home part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with festive cheer on 3 December as staff, residents, and relatives came together to celebrate Elf Day in support of the Alzheimer’s Society. The home was transformed into a hub of Christmas spirit as staff dressed as elves, residents wore green and festive jumpers, and everyone joined in the fun.
The afternoon featured live entertainment, with a singer performing classic hits from the 60s and 70s along with a selection of Christmas favourites. Thirty residents enjoyed the celebration, with dancing, laughter, and even inflatable elves making their way around the room.
Lifestyle Coordinator at Maun View Care Home, Lucy, shared her delight at the success of the event, saying:
“It was a really fun day, lots of laughs and residents smiling.”
Family and friends also joined in the festivities. Jules, a friend of resident E.H., commented:
“It was a smashing afternoon.”
The event highlighted the importance of bringing people together, raising awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society, and creating joyful moments for residents during the festive season. The atmosphere was energetic and filled with excitement, with the standout moment being relatives arriving dressed as inflatable elves, much to the delight of residents.
Maun View Care Home looks forward to continuing its tradition of meaningful celebrations throughout the Christmas period.
