On 22nd September 2025, Maun View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly marked World Alzheimer’s Day by turning the home blue in a heartwarming celebration that brought together residents, relatives, and staff.
As Alzheimer’s is a cause close to many at Maun View, the day held special significance for everyone involved. The event saw residents, families, and team members dressed in blue coming together for an afternoon of tea, sweet treats, and lively entertainment.
Nicola Patchett, Home Manager at Maun View, said:
“As a large percentage of our residents at Maun View live with Alzheimer’s, it’s something we are extremely passionate about. It was great to see the turnout and involvement from residents, relatives and our staff team, wearing blue and enjoying the afternoon celebrations.”
The atmosphere was joyful. Attendees enjoyed an array of cakes and refreshments before hitting the dance floor to classic 60s rock and roll hits, a highlight of the day.
Kaytie, relative of resident, added:
“Dad loves it here. Nice to see him smiling. Lovely to see them all happy, the staff are amazing.”
The idea for the celebration stemmed from the Maun View team’s dedication to creating meaningful experiences for residents while raising awareness of Alzheimer’s. The event served not only as a joyful celebration but also as a touching reminder of the power of community, compassion, and care.
The community at Maun View enjoyed seeing residents dancing together and truly enjoying the moment.
