Residents, staff, and visitors at Redbond Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, have been enjoying a month filled with music, connection, and joy, thanks to a series of heartfelt musical moments held throughout March.
Throughout the month, the home welcomed staff, relatives, and friends to engage with residents through music. These gatherings created meaningful opportunities for interaction, reminiscence, and shared enjoyment.
A number of talented individuals contributed to the experience, including Dave, a carer at the home, who played the guitar; Freddie, the grandson of one of the residents, who delighted everyone with piano performances; and Joanne, a friend of the home, who volunteered her time to sing.
The atmosphere during each event was warm and uplifting. While every musical session was unique, they all brought immense pleasure to those in attendance. Residents expressed their appreciation, with Edith describing the experience as “Beautiful,” and Margaret adding, “Wonderful.”
The idea grew naturally from Redbond Lodge’s ongoing love of music. While music is always present within the home, these moments became even more special when enriched by the personal contributions of staff, family members, and friends.
Each of the three musical events held throughout March carried a profound meaning for residents and staff alike, reinforcing the importance of community, creativity, and connection in daily life at Redbond Lodge.
