Residents, staff, and family members from Redbond Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a peaceful and scenic outing to The Gardens of Easton Lodge on Thursday 3rd April, celebrating the first official opening day of the year.
Residents had a wonderful day visiting the gardens and reminiscing on outings that they have previously enjoyed with friends and family outside of Redbond Lodge. One resident shared their joy, commenting, “It’s so nice to visit somewhere different.”
During the visit, the group strolled through the beautiful grounds, taking in the vibrant daffodils and summer snowflake plants in the woodland area. They enjoyed views of the Italian Sunken Garden and wandered through the Walled Garden, where volunteers were busy preparing the vegetable beds. There was a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere throughout the day.
Refreshments were enjoyed outdoors, and residents had the chance to chat with the dedicated volunteers about the flowers and the restoration efforts that have brought the gardens back to life.
A standout moment came when family members of resident Mary surprised everyone by joining the group, spending the morning together and adding an extra touch of warmth to an already beautiful day.
The trip was a wonderful opportunity to embrace the spring sunshine and explore the beauty of nature—an uplifting and memorable experience for all who attended.
