Windmill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, hosted a heartwarming Autumn Coffee Morning.
The event embraced the cosy spirit of autumn, featuring live singing entertainment by Lauren, a tempting selection of cakes and savoury treats, and a hot chocolate station that proved a seasonal favourite. Guests also enjoyed taking part in a raffle and hamper draw while browsing handmade pumpkins crafted by residents during the weekly Knitter Natter group. Beautiful poppies handmade by Admin Jayne and volunteer Jackie were also available for sale, adding a personal and creative touch to the morning.
The event was a true community effort, with support from residents, relatives, volunteers, including Liz, and the Lifestyle Team. It offered a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together.
“A fantastic morning,” said Sue Appleby, relative of a resident. “Lauren was brilliant. Lots of chatter and fun this morning. Well done to the activity team and all who put this event together.”
The atmosphere was described as fun and full of warmth, with plenty of sing-alongs throughout the morning. One of the highlights was seeing residents singing and dancing along to the music, showcasing the happiness and connection the event inspired.
Lifestyle Coordinator at Windmill House, Carlie Phillips, who organised the event, said:
“It’s so rewarding to see residents, relatives, and our local community enjoying time together. Events like these remind us how important it is to create moments of joy and togetherness.”
The Autumn Coffee Morning was another shining example of how Windmill House Care Home, continues to nurture a welcoming and vibrant community for everyone who visits.
