Residents at Liberty House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently came together for their much-loved fortnightly Gentlemen’s Club, an event designed to bring the men in the home together for social time, friendly competition, and conversation.

The latest gathering took place on Saturday 28 February, where residents and staff enjoyed an afternoon of dominoes, refreshments, and laughter. The Gentlemen’s Club has become a regular highlight at Liberty House, offering residents the opportunity to relax, reminisce, and enjoy activities that many fondly remember from their days in local social clubs.

Residents took part in lively games of dominoes while enjoying snacks and drinks, creating a warm and sociable atmosphere filled with conversation and good-natured rivalry.

David, Resident at Liberty House, shared his enthusiasm for the event:

“I love to join the Gentlemen’s Club. We have friendly games of dominoes and enjoy great snacks and drinks.”

Walter, Resident at Liberty House, also spoke about what the club means to him:

“I used to play dominoes all the time, so joining the Gentlemen’s Club for some healthy competition really makes my day.”

Staff also enjoy supporting the residents during the activity. Rhianne, Care Staff at Liberty House, said:

“It’s wonderful to see our gents enjoying themselves, and I enjoy helping.”

The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was full of laughter, conversation, and friendly competition. A standout moment of the day was when Walter was crowned this week’s Gentlemen’s Club champion, much to the delight of everyone present.

Events like the Gentlemen’s Club are part of Liberty House’s ongoing commitment to creating meaningful experiences and maintaining a vibrant, social community for residents.
