In celebration of the Runwood Homes Group‘s ongoing recycling initiative, residents at Mulberry Court recently enjoyed a creative and engaging arts and crafts session that turned everyday waste into something beautiful.
Led by lifestyle coordinator Kirsty, the activity saw residents transform saved juice bottles into colourful, hand-decorated vases. The event not only supported the group’s commitment to sustainability but also provided meaningful cognitive stimulation and encouraged social interaction among residents.
Residents saved their plastic bottles ahead of time, building enthusiasm for the activity and creating a positive and uplifting afternoon.
One resident, Barbara, shared, “I love it when we do arts and crafts. You make it really fun and it reminds me of doing these sorts of things with my five children.”
The project offered an ideal opportunity for reminiscence and sparked warm conversations about family life and past creative hobbies. Residents chatted, laughed, and supported each other throughout, resulting in a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere.
Initiatives like this reflect the ongoing commitment at Mulberry Court to deliver purposeful and enriching activities that not only align with broader environmental goals but also bring joy, connection, and stimulation to residents’ lives.
