Residents of Windmill House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a delightful minibus excursion to a local farm for a pumpkin-picking event, embracing the warm, barmy weather of the day. This festive outing on the 16th of October provided an opportunity for residents, staff, volunteers, and their relatives to immerse themselves in the spirit of autumn.
Residents were thrilled to choose their own pumpkins while dressed in fun Halloween costumes. The event was a fantastic opportunity for social interaction as residents met other visitors and their dogs, all decked out in costume. The day was complemented by al fresco refreshments, allowing everyone to enjoy the great outdoors and connect with nature.
Resident Ann expressed her joy, stating, “I want to live in this field; it is so lovely to be out. I love trees; it’s beautiful here.” Her sentiment was echoed by Pat, another resident, who shared, “I used to drive tractors. I love being out and meeting people.”
This pumpkin-picking excursion not only nurtured the wellbeing of residents but also provided valuable marketing for Windmill House care home, showcasing their commitment to community engagement and enriching the lives of their residents.
As the autumn leaves fall and the days grow cooler, Windmill House care home remains dedicated to fostering a vibrant and supportive community environment for all.
