Residents from Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently enjoyed not one but two beautiful spring outings to the stunning Hylands House Formal Gardens and Courtyard Deli Café in Chelmsford, held on Friday 25th April and Wednesday 7th May. The visits were inspired by the overwhelming success of last year’s trip. This year, there was so much interest from residents that two trips had to take place.
The trips offered Rosedale Court residents the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the season. From strolling through the formal gardens filled with vibrant blooms to sitting peacefully by the lake watching ducks glide across the water, the experience was both calming and invigorating.
Residents walked among the rhododendrons, sat in the tranquil memorial garden, and chatted with the gardeners tending the grounds. The visits sparked fond memories of residents’ own gardens and created new ones too.
Residents were particularly enchanted by the floral displays, and felt at peace whilst sitting in the gardens, listening to the birds singing. Pamela and John shared, “The smell of lilac is beautiful,” while Anne added, “The wisteria is out of this world in full bloom.”
The experience was made even more special by a visit to the Courtyard Deli Café, where residents enjoyed homemade food, including standout favourites like freshly baked sausage rolls. The time spent around the lunch table was filled with laughter, conversation, and a shared appreciation for the day.
Joining the residents were members of the lifestyle team, carers, and family, whose presence added a heartwarming touch to the day.
These trips are more than just outings—they’re opportunities for connection, reminiscence, and joy. Surrounded by nature, supported by caring staff, and enriched by community interaction, the days were a true celebration of springtime and wellbeing.
