Residents at Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were treated to a heartfelt Valentine’s Day surprise on 14th February, as the gentlemen of the home hand-delivered fresh roses to the ladies, creating a truly joyful and touching atmosphere.
The event, organised by Lifestyle Coordinator Louise, was designed to make residents feel loved and appreciated, and it certainly did just that. The gentlemen residents embraced the role with pride, delighted to bring smiles to the faces of their fellow residents.
Cliff, one of the participating residents, expressed how meaningful the experience was: “It’s been an honour to give our ladies a rose on Valentine’s Day.”
Fellow resident David echoed the sentiment, adding: “I hope I’ve made the ladies smile.”
The thoughtful gesture received praise from relatives and the local community, with Joan describing it as “just the sweetest thing”, while Jayne, a relative, shared: “It was so lovely. Thank you.”
With roses in hand and smiles all around, the home was filled with love and warmth, making Valentine’s Day a truly special occasion for everyone involved.
Speaking about the event, Lifestyle Coordinator Louise explained how the idea came to life: “I asked some of our gentlemen if they would like to hand out roses, and they were more than happy to do so for our ladies. It was such a simple yet meaningful way to bring joy to everyone.”
The standout moment of the day was undoubtedly seeing the ladies’ delighted reactions as they received their roses, a reminder that small gestures of kindness can make a big impact.
Events like this reflect Rosedale Court’s dedication to fostering love, connection, and happiness among residents. With smiles, laughter, and plenty of love in the air, this Valentine’s Day was one to remember.
