Loganberry Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with joy and music as world-renowned saxophonist Mike Aremu delivered two unforgettable live performances as part of his “50 Care Homes for 50 Years” community celebration. Spanning two days, Mike’s concerts reached both the Main Loganberry Building and the Huckleberry Suite Building, ensuring all residents had the opportunity to enjoy the special event.
Mike’s visit was more than a concert—it was a heartwarming, interactive experience. Residents gathered in the lounges, and Mike performed not only from the front but also moved through the crowd, playing up close to individuals. His connection with the audience was magical, with many residents dancing, clapping, and even singing along. In a particularly memorable moment, one resident took to the microphone to sing a few of his favourite songs, adding a personal touch to the performance that delighted everyone present.
Vivien, a resident, called it the best day of her life, sharing how much she loved singing and dancing along. Another resident, Jean, said “I love music so much, and it was lovely to listen to Mike’s performance as it was something a bit different!”
Loganberry Lodge staff commended the event, describing it as the best live entertainment the home has hosted in a long time, noting how difficult it was to put into words the joy and energy Mike brought with him. Carers and staff joined residents in dancing and celebrating, making it a true home-wide occasion.
Mike Aremu’s kind outreach through ECL and his passion for using music to uplift care communities has left a lasting impression on everyone at Loganberry Lodge. His visit was not just a performance—it was a reminder of the power of music to spark joy, connection, and unforgettable memories.
