The Grange Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, is delighted to announce the launch of its Make A Wish Tree, an initiative focused on celebrating residents’ individual wishes and placing person-centred care at the heart of everyday life. The first wish to be granted belongs to resident Gwen, whose heartfelt request will take place on 29 January 2026.
Gwen recently formed a strong connection with singer Jamie after attending one of his performances at The Grange Care Home. Deeply moved by the songs he performed, Gwen expressed a wish for him to return and sing especially for her. In response, the team arranged for Gwen’s favourite singer to perform once again, ensuring she was seated front and centre to fully enjoy the experience.
A Lifestyle Coordinator at The Grange Care Home commented:
“It is important to fulfil a wish made by a resident. This honours their dignity and boosts their quality of life, focusing on a person centered approach to care. We acted on Gwen’s desire bringing joy, providing motivation and engagement.”
The event was attended by staff, fellow residents and the singer, creating a very happy and joyful atmosphere filled with smiles, singing and dancing. One of the standout moments was seeing the pure happiness on Gwen’s face as she connected with her friends in the room and enjoyed the music she loves.
The Make A Wish Tree initiative reflects The Grange Care Home’s ongoing dedication to listening to residents’ voices, celebrating their individuality and creating meaningful moments that truly make a difference.
