Park View Warwickshire care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, became the stage for an extraordinary musical afternoon on the 17th of October. Residents, staff, and families gathered to enjoy a mini concert featuring the renowned Armonico Consort, with special guest appearances by James May and Oz Clarke. This inspiring event was part of the Great Bike Challenge 2024, a unique campaign combining music and cycling to raise awareness and support for dementia care.
The home’s communal area was beautifully decorated for the occasion, and the atmosphere was electric as the Consort’s voices filled the space with uplifting melodies. James May and Oz Clarke added a touch of celebrity charm, mingling with residents and bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.
“It gives me goosebumps,” shared resident Joyce. “I love the music. This is very special.” Her sentiment echoed throughout the room as residents were visibly moved by the performance.
Deputy Manager at Park View expressed her pride in the event, noting, “It was so lovely to have Armonico Consort perform for us. Their voices were amazing! We’re so lucky to have had them visit, and having James May and Oz Clarke here was such an honour. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
The joy continued with dancing, laughter, and plenty of shared moments among residents, staff, and visitors. Resident David remarked, “That was brilliant! I liked the dancing afterwards as well.”
Family members also praised the event. Sarah, the daughter of Veronica, expressed her gratitude to the team, describing the day as “such a lovely experience.”
